Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating, I spent two years teaching English in Frankfurt, Germany, and traveling around Europe. My focus was on Business English, training professionals who wanted to improve their language skills. Now that I am back in the United States, I teach beginning English to refugees in Durham, North Carolina. Given my varied professional and academic background, I tutor a broad range of subjects, from GRE Verbal test prep to Psychology. Of these subjects, I am most enthusiastic about ESL and German, as I believe learning another language is a wonderful way to open yourself up to new opportunities and experiences. From my own learning experience, I know it takes a lot of support to be a successful student, and I take joy in being part of my students' support team. It is important to me that students actually enjoy the learning process, so I strive to make tutoring sessions both engaging and challenging. Outside of tutoring, I like to spend my free time traveling, reading all sorts of books, and watching sports, especially basketball and football.
