Dior: Leicester tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Acting and Creative Writing, and a long-time lover of all baked goods.
I have been tutoring professionally for a 5+ years and continue to enjoy the experience. To me, tutoring is all about collaboration and learning together. I prioritize my students comfortability with moving forward in their learning and like to think of myself as a teammate rather than an instructor. My goal with every student is to ensure that they eventually grow to have no further need of me and are well-equipped with the tools to succeed!
Tutoring can be so much more than an arbitrary experience. I aim to help my students achieve, grow, and feel confident in their abilities (and hopefully have a bit of fun in the process)!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I come to my students with a friendly, positive, and patient demeanor that creates a team environment where we work together to achieve the students' goals.
As a tutor, I believe a professional, yet friendly relationship between the student and tutor is instrumental in making a difference. I bring an amicable energy to the room (or online session) that motivates my students to succeed!
I like to make learning as enjoyable as possible, which means really getting to know students to discover what ways I can make the learning experience more exciting and engaging for them. By making learning relatable, interesting, and entertaining, I believe the best results are commonly found.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
A typical first session is all about getting to know the student! I like to start off with casual conversation to diffuse any awkward tension. I then move the conversation towards asking the student what they think they are receiving tutoring for in their own words. Having the student articulate themselves what they need help working on makes the path ahead much clearer for both tutor and student!
