Certified Tutor

I am a current high school mathematics teacher at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA. In my time as a teacher I have had experience teaching classes at all levels ranging from pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC. Prior to this, I completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics education at the University of Maine. While studying as a graduate student, I had the opportunity to manage an undergraduate tutoring center for mathematics and science students, and I also designed and facilitated training workshops for middle and high school math teachers who were preparing to enact the Common Core State Standards. I am passionate about mathematics and computer science, and I love helping students to see the excitement and power of these subjects! Mathematics is the foundation for being able to critically analyze an astoundingly wide range of real problems, and I believe that students can greatly improve their ability to objectively reason about nearly any area of life through the study of math. In my spare time, I love to be active through activities like hiking, tennis, running, ballroom dance, and yoga.
