Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. I am currently working towards a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering. I currently work at a Tutorial Center as a New York Regents Exam tutor for subjects in mathematics (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Geometry) and science (Biology, Chemistry). Since I am passionate about all subjects of mathematics, I am comfortable with teaching from elementary school-level math to undergraduate college-level math, such as Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. However, I am most passionate about teaching SAT Math, as well as the SAT subject Math 1 and Math 2, because I enjoy the diverse mathematic topics tested in the SAT. I believe that there are several key components that every tutor should keep in mind: repetition, patience, and encouragement. Students need various examples to fully comprehend a concept. A tutor should be even-tempered when students struggle to learn a concept, and offer occasional encouragement to promote a nurturing learning environment.
