Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Rice University in Houston, TX. I received my B.A. in Philosophy at Rice, and will be attending Medical School in Fall of 2016.

While at Rice University, I was selected to participate in the Honors 1-on-1 Peer Mentoring Society, the Society of Martel Mentors. From this experience, I gained the competence to effectively tutor math, science and english disciplines. I have personally taken and performed well on the SAT as well as the MCAT. I believe that strong test-taking strategies directly translate into higher final scores, and therefore choose to incorporate test-taking strategy instruction in my tutoring sessions. I am also very interested in assisting students with personal statement writing.

I strongly believe that any student has the ability to learn any academic concept. It is my opinion however, that it is a good tutor's responsibility to always be available for students, and to guide the way towards learning new concepts efficiently. I intend on developing personalized lesson plans for every student I tutor.
