I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Wright State University and I am a future medical school student. Being in a field of study that requires an immense amount of studying, I had to figure out the best and most effective way of studying not only to get an A but also to remember information past the end of a particular class.
Ever since I was in elementary school I have always loved school. Everything from the subject material to just the simple act of being in a classroom appealed to me very much. But as a grew and came to each new grade, I realized that the key thing that I loved the most about school was learning. Learning is such an amazing humanistic quality because every one of us has the capacity to do it. This passion of learning that I have always had was translated into everything that I did while attending Wright State University. While there, I was employed to be a tutor teaching students science classes such as biology, chemistry and statistics. After a while I branched out and started teaching small groups in classrooms and well as other subjects such as college composition and lower level mathematics. I found that tutoring students and helping them to better prepare for tests as well as instilling in them better time management strategies and goal oriented philosophies gave me immense pleasure. I discovered that many students learn concepts in completely different ways. Therefore I had to adapt my teaching style to better fit each student. And that is precisely what my tutoring style is. I can figure out what each student is lacking or what the student is not understanding and then form a game plan to better fit the students’ needs and explain it back to them. I use a wide variety of teaching tools like visual diagrams and lectures on a white board or computer screen, designing my own practice tests, memorization skills using mnemonics and note taking, and just simply teaching a student new study tools.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading classic literature novels, playing the violin and swimming
