Certified Tutor

I started tutoring, informally, while I was getting my BA in Mathematics from Boston University; I used to help my friends in the engineering department with their calculus homework. I realized that I had a knack for explaining mathematics in simple terms. I also realized how fun it is to teach math and how rewarding it is to watch a student grow in their understanding. From there, I continued to tutor privately. While in grad school, I also got the opportunity to be a teaching assistant.

My approach to teaching is to work through examples with the student, guiding them along the way with questions meant to help them think about the problem and come to their own understanding of the material. Teaching, to me, is a dialog. My role is to help you learn the material in a way that works with how you process information.

I teach high school and college level mathematics, and I also help with test prep for GRE and SAT Verbal/Quantitative tests.
