Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of The University of California Los Angeles. I received my Bachelor of Arts in American Literature with a focus on post-modern literature. Since graduation, I have been teaching in underprivileged areas in New Orleans. I have taught second, third, and fourth grade and while I have taught all subjects, I mainly focused on math. I am currently the Math Specialist/Interventionist at a charter school here in Austin. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about elementary and middle school math. I also have extensive experience with tutoring students in standardized testing, a component of student evaluation that has become increasingly important. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading post-modern fiction, playing basketball and soccer, and learning guitar.
