I am graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During my time at UMBC, I worked as a chemistry tutor for the Chemistry Department. I tutored both small groups and individuals in subjects ranging from freshman inorganic chemistry to upper-level biochemistry. I also worked for the Biological Sciences Department both as teaching assistant for the introductory biology course for majors and as a tutor for the upper-level cell biology course. After graduation, I completed a year of medical school at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. There I realized that my true calling was in basic scientific research, and I am now applying to PhD programs in the biological sciences. I hope to one day become a professor and be able to train scores of future scientists. While I tutor various levels of math and science, I personally love to tutor any biological discipline. I like to emphasize the interconnectedness of biology, chemistry, and physics as a means of gaining critical understanding of biological processes. Outside of academics, I am an absolute tennis fanatic and love to play, though my skill level still hasn't caught up to my competitiveness. I also play Magic: The Gathering regularly and am a Game of Thrones super fan (I've watched the entire series four times already). Lastly, I love musicals and regularly karaoke with friends in order to sing the best show tunes.
