My name is Kurry and I heart learning!

About me:

I grew up in NW Washington and attended Whatcom Community College. After I received my Associates Degree, I received my Bachelors Degree in Political Science.

I then attended Chapman Law School in California. I received my J.D. with emphasis in business law and taxation. University of Washington School of Law's graduate program in taxation. I graduated this past June and received my LL.M. in Taxation.

I first began to tutor when I was 17 and I quickly realized I was a natural teacher, but more importantly, I discovered I truly enjoyed teaching. For the 3 years I attended law school, I tutored college students in English, Psychology, Literature, and a variety of other subjects.

One of my favorite authors once wrote that the ability to impart knowledge consists of two things: first of a natural talent for dealing with students, for getting in their minds and putting things in a way that they can comprehend. And second, of a deep belief in the interest and importance of the thing taught, a concern about it amounting to a kind of passion. I believe a teacher ought also urge his students to think critically. It's almost always the case that rote memorization of facts or data cannot impart the same deep understanding of some subject or issue that becomes possible through critical examination and asking "why" things are the way they are.
