I am a graduate of the George Washington University and I received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Biophysics and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. Since graduation, I have worked as an Instrumentation & Control/Electrical Associate at a nuclear power contracting firm in Chicago, IL. I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Biomedical Physics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and doing research in systems biology of cancer. I have tutored Calculus and Pre-Calculus, Chemistry I/II, Arabic, and GRE Math to GWU college students; SAT Math and Algebra to high school students; Piano to kids and young adults; and Arabic to young adults and professionals. I also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for a Cell Biology lab and a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a Biomedical Engineering Pre-College Program. I have extensive experience in tutoring a diverse range of subjects; however, I am most passionate about Math, including Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Algebra, Geometry and the Math sections of Standardized Tests. Working with a broad range of student ages has allowed me to appreciate the importance of adapting flexible teaching styles that depend on a student's background, knowledge, progress, and goals. When working with children, I make sure to add the element of fun to sessions to capture and sustain their interest in the material. When working with adults, I always go over the basics, to alleviate confusion from the beginning, and work through many practice problems to ensure full understanding of the subject. Aside from my career and education, I enjoy traveling, hiking, marathon training and biking.
