Certified Tutor

I am currently a graduate student in the Masters of Psychology program at San Diego State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Irvine in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring students of various ages. Formally, I have served as a teaching associate for various undergraduate Psychology and Neuroscience courses. I have also coached college and high school students in helping them achieve their academic goals. Lastly, I have worked with children and teenagers while volunteering as a therapy aide. When I am teaching or tutoring a student, I try to make the subject as interesting and engaging as possible. For example, if I am working with younger children, difficult math problems become a fun and exciting game. Although I am most passionate about Psychology and Neuroscience, I am capable of providing exceptional tutoring for a wide range of subjects. Regarding my teaching philosophy, I am a proponent of active learning and creative problem-solving. I adjust the tutoring techniques that I use to accommodate different learning styles.
