I received my BA in Biology from Oberlin College in 2011. Having worked in biological sciences laboratory research, I realize the importance of a strong science foundation. I am excited to facilitate students' knowledge of the basic sciences and help them reach their academic and career goals through course and test preparation. I hope that my enthusiasm for science--especially biology--is infectious.

I have an array of teaching and tutoring experiences that prepare me for personalized tutoring. As an organic chemistry teaching assistant in college, I facilitated understanding of difficult scientific concepts. In co-coaching sports, I discovered the value of enabling motivation in learners. From participating in student-led seminars and giving public presentations, I understand how to relay scientific concepts and explanations so that information is accessible to a variety of audiences. Active in study groups in college, I gained skills in peer tutoring. I've been through the process of grasping difficult science concepts--I know it can be done! With hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for knowledge, I am ready to assist students with their study and test goals.

Dedicated to quality preparation, my tutoring style not only includes subject mastery, but also focuses on study organization skills. I encourage every student to play an active role in creating study strategies in order to hone abilities in small scale and big picture planning, assessment and modification of plans, and dedication to complete goals. I will enjoy helping students learn these life skills and science concepts by catering my tutoring methods, with respect to the student's knowledge base, effort level, and learning style--be it visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. I especially enjoy learning from students themselves, who bring creative insights to knowledge acquisition. I look forward to building productive learning partnerships!
