Certified Tutor

I hold a degree in English from Boston University and just finished my second year with Teach For America. I moved to New York to study drawing and architecture, but my passion for education remains. I believe that students need to learn how to ask the right questions so that they can navigate the increasingly sophisticated world around them. This belief informs my teaching style; I act as a guide for students rather than someone dispensing information. Nothing is more enjoyable than the look on a student's face when he or she has just realized that he or she can solve a problem without anyone's help. When I'm not tutoring, I love walking through New York for design inspiration and taking carpentry, metalworking, and illustration classes.
