I have previously tutored for my university. There I tutored the Biological sciences, Nutrition classes, and Chemistry. As a tutor, I try to break the topic down into understandable pieces then build up from there. I also feel that it is very important to teach science using language that we can all grasp. Simply put, I really enjoy tutoring. Perception and problem solving are integral parts of tutoring. In my view, to be an effective tutor, one needs to be able to perceive the problems a student is having, and then figure out a way to work with the student to find ways around his or her difficulties. And then there was the reward of the student actually gaining knowledge and understanding of a topic. There was always a good feeling when a student comes to me for assistance, confused after a class, and leaves our session saying something to the effect of, "Wow, that's not as difficult as I thought..."
