Certified Tutor

I was an honors student and National Scholar at the University of Arizona and I majored in Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and Law. I have a wide range of tutoring experience: general study skills, basic math and reading comprehension, Spanish, Chinese, English as a second language, SAT prep, comparative government, political theory, and advanced philosophy. I also do essay editing and proofreading! I come from a Spanish speaking family and studied Spanish for five years. I have traveled to many Central and South American countries, and so I have a handle not only on the language, but also on many different Hispanic cultures. Additionally, I minored in Chinese and lived abroad in China as an English teacher for about a year.

I am passionate about all the subjects in which I tutor. I believe that learning can be both fun and easy when the tutor and the student work together to build a solid foundation for future growth. I understand that everyone has a different learning style, and I love to figure out what works for each individual. I also believe in positive reinforcement, because learning happens best when students are comfortable and not afraid to make mistakes every now and then. When I'm not tutoring, you can catch me on stage around the Bay Area doing musical theatre!
