The student's class is near the end of logarithms; today we worked more with converting addition and subtraction of logarithms into multiplication and division inside of the logarithms as well as using the change of base formula a bit.

We first covered material involving angles-- converting from radians to degrees and vice versa, as well as determining co-terminal angles and reference, and measuring given angles and drawing angles in standard position. We then did some work with calculating sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent from given triangles. Finally, we started covering some work that involving ellipses and hyperbolas, and finding the standard equations given certain information-- two foci, vertices, asymptotes, center, or a given point.

The student has an exam on Thursday, and today, we managed to cover half the material about two column proofs using SSS SAS ASA. She was on top of this material, and I only had to clarify a few of the reasons for the statement given. On Wednesday, we will finish the other half on distance between points and lines.

The student and I spent the majority of the time preparing for the biology final he has for next week. The major concepts that we covered were cellular respiration and photosynthesis. I showed him the gist of each before going into detail regarding the key terminology laid out on his study guide. He needs to thoroughly review all the processes to have an understanding on their major differences.

We continued reviewing for the student's final. We spent the majority of the session reviewing drawing sinusoids. He already knew what most of the coefficients stood for, but he had a little trouble applying them in graphs. I showed him how to apply what he already knew on the graph as well as how to plot key points to make the graph easier. We then reviewed logarithms to make sure he had an understanding. He stated that he needed more solitary studying, so I told him to contact me if anything goes wrong.
