The student rewrote several pieces in my observation, an essay about Facebook, and a chapter from his ongoing story "Zombieland." We are working on eliminating extraneous words and rendering conversational writing into better-sounding prose. We agreed on a homework project. The student seems to be doing well.

I worked on OLSAT practice questions with the students.  Student 1 practiced with analogy questions and did very well.  Student 2 worked on reasoning questions, and with assistance was able to answer and explain each question.

Primarily the SAT math section and some of the writing as well. We covered  grammatical sentence correction  and reviewed information on the math section; the student should review the number line and absolute values, and as always review vocab words.

The student and I worked hard on critical reading and reading comprehension in long passages. I'm seeing some real progress with this very bright student. We worked through a difficult literary passage by Oscar Wilde and made generalizations for approaching literature in general.

In this session the student and I worked through some practice problems in all three sections of the SAT.  He showed a good understanding and near mastery of the math section and the improving sentences and paragraph sections of the writing section.  He showed good improvement in the reading comprehension section.

Yesterday's session went really well and the client's progression is going really well as well. We began by going over statistical analysis which included mean, median, and standard deviation. Then we began a new chapter dealing with exponent laws. We went over the several rules for exponents; for example, adding exponents when two variables are the same with different exponents, you have to add the exponents. Then we went into identifying and rearranging polynomials. The client was having trouble at first understanding the terms of the polynomials but when we where done he was doing great. We also went over the "FOIL" method for the product of two expressions. Then we went to the distributive property followed by long division. Each session is getting more efficient, which is great. Our next session will be next Tuesday.
