We worked on math and ELA. We especially practiced bringing energy and enthusiasm to reading texts in order to improve comprehension and retention of the material.

We worked once again on preparing for the student's test. She now knows all about rational functions, and I feel confident that she will do really well tonight. She struggled a little bit with double fractions, but I showed her a way to use multiplication instead, and it smoothed things out for her. She is gaining confidence, and I was really impressed with how much she retained from our last session. Good work!

During my session with the student, we covered material for her global history exam on China's dynasties. The student 's attitude was very positive and confident toward the material we reviewed. As a study skill, I suggested that she begin using the a review book to supplement her teacher's notes, and use the questions they provide to test her knowledge of the topic she is being tested on in class. I think the student is very well organized and works in a timely manner, and these habits will help her succeed in high school and college.

I worked with the student on fractions. We worked on word problems that involved finding fractions of whole numbers.

The student and I continued to work on what she is learning in class at the moment, which is arithmetic and geometric series. After showing me that she has a solid mastery of said sequences, we moved on to logarithms and how to manipulate them to help us understand algebra a little better. She moved through problems quickly and soundly, as she is showing improvement and more engagement in the work she is doing. We will continue to work towards achieving success in algebra 2.

During this session, we reviewed for the student's upcoming test. The material we worked on was a homework assignment and review packet. The concepts covered included inverse variation, radical functions and graphing radical functions. She did a great job solving all the problems with very little assistance.
