The student and I completed a one hour session, practicing basic operation and fraction concepts. We worked up in levels until he found a challenging division and fraction level. His confidence in Mathematics is high and he is always excited for a challenge. We also played math games to help solidify his understanding in the review concepts.

Tutoring review by Eunki in Blue Ridge, TX
The student and I finished covering the chapter on radicals by reviewing problems he struggled with at home regarding operations with radicals. Additionally, we covered complex numbers (including complex conjugates) to round out the last part of the chapter. Once we went through the lesson together, it wasn't quite as difficult as he had thought. Conceptually, it is a bit strange as working with imaginary numbers as opposed to real numbers borders on the theoretical, but in spite of this, he had no problem going through the sample problems and explanations.

Today, we covered some things that the student had trouble with (limits, velocities, and related rates). We went through some examples of limits, drawing a function with several limits. We also did a couple of problems involving related rates (i.e. how the distance between two objects changes as they are more perpendicular to each other). We also calculated average velocities and instantaneous velocities for given functions of position. The student seems like she wants to learn and understand this material. Things seem to be going well.
