Statistics Tutoring review by Colin in Chesterfield
The student has a statistics midterm on Monday, and wanted to get completely caught up on all of the lectures, as well as go over the practice midterm beforehand. The lectures we had left to cover were on probability and we mostly focused on the counting rules. We also went over how we can use two way tables to find probabilities, and related them to the values we already knew. We then looked at the midterm, and he felt pretty good about most of it, but wanted to go over the probability questions. We talked about how we can use tree diagrams to find probabilities as long as there aren't too many branches.

We covered chapters 8, 9 and 10 which are the basis for the student's final tomorrow. She had a study guide for these chapters and we completed examples of the problems listed in it. One chapter covered Z scores, p values for normal distributions, standard deviations and confidence intervals of sample means and hypothesis testing. Another chapter covered the binomial distribution/ probability where we completed an example problem on guessing answers to a multiple choice quiz. The last chapter covered samples and populations, statistics and parameters and biased and unbiased samples.
