I am a recent graduate of medical school. Prior to medical school, I taught high school math and science for seven years in San Francisco, CA. In addition to teaching, I tutored students of all ages. I enjoy helping student meet their academic potential, as well as showing students the beauty and fun of mathematics, a subject that intimidates a lot of people. I have a bachelors degree in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University and a Biology degree from San Francisco State University. For the next year, I will be working part time as a scribe at the Northside Hospitals in Atlanta.Ever since high school, I have been a tutor in one way or another. I was a peer mentor at my high school???s writing center for three years in a row. Although I was not paid for my services, I enjoyed tutoring other students because teaching helped me expand my knowledge on the material, as well. That is when my interest in tutoring began. I kept tutoring in college as well with the athletic department and TRIO academic services. Through my experiences, I have grown as an educator, learning different tactics and strategies to help students expand their knowledge. I am a freshman, studying at the University of Texas at Austin. I am majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I love working with students because I want to help them grow, and I grow from them as well. I have tutored students before in elementary and middle school math. Additionally, I play the violin and like to spend time with family and friends.

I am a PhD student in Animal Biology at UC Davis and am currently in the process of finishing my dissertation. I study the proteins that are involved in membrane fusion -- for example, when the sperm and egg cell membranes fuse together during fertilization. I have a Master's in Education and a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University. I love working with students of all ages and do my best to make learning relevant and fun.
