We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

MCAT Tutoring review by Mark in Cambridge
We covered areas that she had questions on, namely acids and bases and indicators, but also some equilibrium questions. We then did a few more practice passages for verbal reasoning. I told her to continue doing one or two practice verbal tests a week to develop the strategies that I showed her.

Today we worked on SN1 and SN2 reactions but we found that we need to go back and review more basics concepts. We also went over verbal reasoning tactics and some passages together. She is taking a practice test together so we can check her progress.

MCAT Tutoring review by Cameron in Cambridge
The student and I covered strategies for tackling the Verbal Reasoning section of the MCAT exam, and also reviewed VR work she'd completed prior to today's tutoring session. I had composed a study schedule for her earlier this week, sending her two full Verbal Reasoning passages to complete in advance of our meeting. Once we had established the best Verbal Reasoning strategy for her we delved into our first Physics lecture and together answered several physics 'discretes' questions. During this time, I prompted her with questions regarding the subject matter and also asked her to describe her thought processes for solving each problem. She demonstrated a very good grasp of kinematics, graphs, use of scientific notation, and an eagerness to learn. Afterwards, we devised a study plan particular to her needs and will be meeting weekly to stay on track. This was a great session.

The student and I continued to review biology content. We talked about blood composition (red/white blood cells, the hemoglobin dissociation curve) and the immune system, and we also discussed adaptations of the fetal circulatory system. He did great, and I believe what he learned today will help him correctly answer 6-7 MCAT questions that he wouldn't have before. It was a good session!

MCAT Tutoring review by Fouad in Cambridge
Today we continued our review of general chemistry. We finished a chapter we had started with earlier on chemical equilibria. We covered topics such as complex equilibrium and went into the details of Le Chatelier's Principle. We also went over solubility, definitions involved, and nomenclature. In addition we reviewed some of the solubility rules and polyatomic ions. We finished by going over the solubility product constant, molar solubility, and the common ion effect.

MCAT Tutoring review by Ari in Cambridge
We focused on Behaviorism and research methods. The student primarily struggled with vocabulary integration and teasing apart research details. We talked about problem approach and question/answer anticipation. For the next session, the student will complete the next lecture in her book, send me the list of new concepts, and convert all concepts learned so far into flashcards for vocabulary review.
