At the next session, we will briefly go over linear vs. quadratic solutions, and continue working with trigonometric ratios. We didn't get to do a reading passage today, so we will definitely practice that at the next session this Sunday at 3pm.

The student and I finished our review of arithmetic and went over a couple of SC problems from her homework. I assigned her SC II and III, 3 RC passages, and Q4 and 5. Next session we will skip ahead to geometry.

The student completed her math homework and had questions on 5 questions, primarily dealing with prime factors and combinations. Today, we did a PS math drill. The questions she missed were due more to not reading the question correctly than to not understanding concepts. We also looked at some specific CR question types, including: identifying bolded sentence relationships, correlation (%), and conclusions. She is going to do a DS quiz and a CR quiz for homework. She's also going to buy a test prep book.

The student and I covered a variety of problems from the GMAT Quantitative and Verbal sections. She feels that the Quantitative section is where she needs the most practice, so we have decided to focus on that, along with continuing to do problems from the Verbal and IR sections. I also encouraged her to purchase the practice book and to complete the diagnostic test in that book. She will let me know the results of her diagnostic test and the areas that she needs most help with. I will focus on those types of problems that she identifies as her problem areas from the diagnostic test on her next session. She will also conduct practice problems on her own and upload a document to the online platform prior to the next session so I can help her with those specific questions she has acquired during her own practice time.

We covered mostly quant today, and we really graced over a lot of different topics. Some of the student's instincts are really good, and I can see how her common sense is helping her out with these problems. Going forward, we have to get deeply involved with both ratios and percents by utilizing the test prep materials.

In this session, the student and I reviewed the personality/abnormal psychology chapter and physiological psychology chapter. I believe he will be prepared for his test with some dedicated time over the next week to solidify his learning and practice multiple choice style questions. The next session is scheduled for Thursday.
