We mostly went over atomic theory, atoms and isotopes, and moles and molar mass. I also helped the student with a worksheet he had to do for class tomorrow. Overall, a very good session, and the student is good at following the concepts presented to him.

The student and I worked on SAT Critical Reading today. He did really well on the last passage. We went over three sections of the book, and we discussed strategy, like strategic skipping. We will chat a little more about the test on Wednesday, and he tests Saturday! I've asked him to do at least one critical reading section a day-- and review it!-- until Friday.

We focused on the math. The student understands most of the concepts. When she misses problems, it's often because she's either made a small error (transposing numbers, dropping a negative sign, etc.) or because she's made it harder than it is and then gotten confused on how to solve it. I'm encouraging her to practice for a few minutes every night to work on precision and accuracy while still staying within the time constraints.
