I am a sophomore at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, majoring in music and computational biology. I am a second year medical student at Penn State College of Medicine! I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh (Hail to Pitt!) in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in English writing and a minor in chemistry. Throughout college, I was an undergraduate teaching assistant for biology, and I also worked as an elementary and high school tutor. As a medical student with a background in English writing, I am not only experienced in the biological and chemical sciences but also how to improve one's writing ability. After graduation, I worked as a student research assistant where I conducted qualitative research and gained experience in academic writing. I also have published fiction, poetry, and personal essays.Currently, I tutor a number of subjects, but I am most passionate about Biology, Chemistry, and English. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).I have 9 years of teaching experience as a Preschool, Elementary & College level instructor. I've taught general education courses, ESL, Spanish Native Language Literacy and a University Writing course. I love teaching!My favorite subjects to tutor are ESL, Reading, Writing, Grammar and Spanish. My tutoring style involves getting to know each other and sharing our interests, discovering my student's goals and preferred learning styles, and having fun while we learn!My interests outside of academia include reading, running, hiking with my two young daughters, travelling, eating sushi and attending concerts with my husband.

I have been involved in many activities throughout my undergraduate and high school career, including reading to third graders, teaching juniors how to take the ACT, and editing many essays in college as well. I love aiding other students, even my own peers, and one, it brings me satisfaction when the light bulb finally clicks in the students' minds as well as I feel as if I am contributing to society by passing on my knowledge and preparing the younger generation, as they are the future.
