Elementary Math Tutoring review by Brandon in Lynwood, CA
We reviewed for student's math test, by the end of the night he was really cruising on a lot of problems. I gave him a few hints on shortcuts that should help him with his test tomorrow. He seems to really grasp the concept of the derivative of e^u and ln(u). I am excited to see the grade that he receives on his test.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Roshni in Lynwood, CA
Today we covered algebra and word problems. She is obviously very bright. She is slowly beginning to understand what it is about. However, it will take a lot more practice for her to be able to do these problems on her own. A lot of our time was spent on algebra, so tomorrow I hope we can work on more problems that she has had trouble with.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Nicholas in Lynwood, CA
Today the student and I were able to discuss volume concepts and we touched upon a variety of graphical skills, ranging from basic circle graph interpretation to bar chart reading. He and I decided to go over a math packet together. This packet covered subjects ranging from basic coordinate geometry to inequality algebra. He performed quite well, but just seems to get a bit nervous doing questions, especially during test conditions. I hope both students can maintain the enthusiasm I saw today!

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Peter in Lynwood, CA
The student was having difficulty with numbers larger than ten. She was not grasping the concept of place value. In our session, we used base ten blocks to construct numbers and then to model counting from one set of ten to the next. Her attitude was good, and she seemed to enjoy the session.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Kedrin in Lynwood, CA
The student and I worked on math, vocabulary, and reading today. He completed math homework via an online platform. Then, we went over his weekly math homework (on paper). His math dealt with improper fractions, mixed numbers, and true/false word problems. We also worked on reading. He had a great attitude toward everything we worked on today, and he was excited to share news about his progress in school. As we read, any words that he did not know the meaning of, I wrote down. After we finished reading, we looked up the words together (part of speech/definition).

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Brookelynn in Lynwood, CA
The student had a lot of schoolwork to cover today. Her note from school says her quiz this week is on comparing fractions on a number line. She completed her homework for the week, which covered the topic. She also had work she missed from an absent day for math, which was a few algebraic word problems and some review. The word problems asked questions which involved adding and subtracting and then multiplying and dividing. She also had a worksheet that she missed in class. This worksheet correlates with an online site and is a great tool for her to learn how to compare fractions in a gaming format. She also had to redo a test that she did in reading by going over questions she answered incorrectly and changing them to the correct answer. I hope that I get to meet with her again this week to cover fractions on a number line.
