Certified Tutor

I am a true native Oregonian. I grew up in Oregon and received my education from both Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. I finished my bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics at OSU and I also picked up a master's degree in mathematics while attending graduate school at the UO.

I learned to love teaching while attending graduate school. I started off as a teaching assistant at OSU working for instructors who ran the lectures for the courses. Then at UO I was the actual instructor for the courses I was assigned. I loved thinking about ways to present the material that could help different types of learners. Most courses involved worksheets which allowed me to meet with smaller groups of students and get to know them. It felt great to help students break through the wall of math they were trying to overcome.

I have taught courses in college algebra, precalculus, single and multivariable calculus, differential equations, and I was even able to teach an introduction to proofs class, which was very fun!

During my studies as an undergrad, I spend some time tutoring veterans one on one through the Academic Success Center at OSU. I had no idea what I was doing back then, but I enjoyed getting to know the students and helping them grind through some math.
