I like to run my sessions by allowing the student to tell me what they need help with the most. I generally ask them to have a few questions or practice problems they are struggling with handy so that we can use that as a guideline. Once I get a sense of the type of problem or subject that is challenging, I like to give a short lecture/lesson on the topic to really solidify those principles. I then will go back to the original practice problems and ask the student to solve it given their new understanding. Once they have mastered those, I like to give a few of my own problems in that topic to allow students the opportunity for more practice.
