About Me
I am a chemistry educator with a strong background in scientific research from Indiana University and the University of Louisville and I have a passion for making complex ideas accessible to students. My experience working in academic research has given me deep subject knowledge, but my focus as a tutor is on communication, helping students build confidence and understand concepts step by step. In tutoring sessions, I prioritize asking questions, identifying gaps in understanding, and guiding students through problems in a structured but supportive way. My goal is to help students develop not just correct answers, but a clear understanding of why those answers make sense. I have experience explaining technical concepts at a collegiate level, and I adapt my explanations based on the student's level and learning style. I am patient, approachable, and focused on creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. My approach to chemistry tutoring emphasizes clarity, logic, and real-world connection. Whether it is stoichiometry, bonding, or reaction principles, I aim to connect abstract ideas to simple models that students can understand and remember. Ultimately, I aim to help students become more independent learners who can approach science with confidence rather than frustration.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of tutoring and research, I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, and continuing to explore topics in science that go beyond my day-to-day work. I also enjoy reading, especially science writing and history, and I like finding ways to connect complex ideas to everyday life. In my free time, I value activities that help me stay balanced and curious, whether that’s working on hands-on projects, learning new skills, or simply relaxing with friends and family.
