I have worked in 4 schools, including a British International school in the Czech Republic. My university degree is in Biochemistry, and at the time I had planned to go to medical school following my degree in the U.S. When it got closer to graduation, I decided to withdraw my applications to the medical schools and I moved to the Czech Republic to pursue a career in teaching. I have over 6 years of experience of full-time teaching in various school settings, as well as tutoring for Science, Math, and English. My teaching experience is in secondary schools, teaching science, chemistry, biology, math, and psychology. I absolutely love science and am passionate about helping students maximize their understanding and application of scientific knowledge. To me, it is not about learning just the facts, but on emphasizing how to understand the process and subsequently enjoy the subject more. I am aware that chemistry and science can be a challenging topic for many students, and my teaching experience has provided me with a range of teaching styles to help students at any level understand and succeed. My previous students have said that I am kind, patient, and caring as a teacher, and that I explain things in meaningful and memorable ways. I absolutely love traveling to new countries, as well as photography. Growing up I was a competitive dancer, so still love dance and was able to teach through college as well as participate on dance team. I love fitness, and particularly outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. My newest hobby is our puppy that we got last year, training her has been great fun!
