Seeking a reading fluency, reading comprehension, or writing tutor? My name is Daura, and I enjoy guiding students into the wonderful, adventurous world of reading through personalized learning plans tailored to their interests. I've tutored hundreds of students over the past seven years and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an MA in English-Technical & Professional Communication from East Carolina University and Cum Laude with a BA in Writing from ORU. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading (phonics and fluency), reading comprehension, and writing, for which I hold certifications in the Science of Reading, Phonics, Phonological (Phonemic) Awareness, Fluency, and Writing. Along with explicit instruction, tutor-led gradual release, guided independent practice, and fun, interactive games, students have scored 93 on the MAPS assessment, improved their grades, and increased their reading fluency by 30-40 points on reading fluency assessments.
