I am a graduate of the University of Chicago where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Currently, I am in the master's program at the University of New Mexico where I am continuing my education in philosophy. Ultimately, I hope to go on to earn a PhD in Philosophy so that I can continue engaging in my passions for learning and teaching. While in school, I have spent countless hours coaching high school speech and debate both in person and working online with students across the country. My focus in coaching has been to emphasize philosophy and critical thought to prepare students to think through novel arguments on their own. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring because I love seeing students learn to be intellectually independent and think through problems on their own terms by developing their critical thinking skills. I have devoted my life to education because I am passionate about it, and I try to share some of my passion for learning with the students I work with. I tutor all sorts of Standardized Tests, and I particularly enjoy working on logic-based problems like analogies and math sections. When I am not tutoring or reading for school, I enjoy strategy games (both board games and video games), listening to music, hiking, playing basketball, and just relaxing with friends.

I am a graduate of McGill University (BA First Class Honors) and the University of Edinburgh (MSc First Class Honors with Distinction) with over eight years of tutoring experience. I am currently a curriculum developer for a company which creates relatable and culturally-literate courses for middle and high-schools, and am particularly adept at communicating and explaining concepts in a quirky, engaging, and intelligent manner. I was named Scotland International Young Thinker of the Year 2014 for exactly that sort of work. Much of my tutoring background is in test-prep and essay coaching, which I enjoy because it allows the tutor and student to think strategically together, and work as a team to achieve concrete results. I have worked with students ranging in age from 6-32, and believe that, in an educational context, a few jokes never hurt anybody. Rowlings, the writer of Harry Potter, is just as brilliant as Stephen Hawking, and in my free time, I manage my (terrible) fantasy baseball team, write songs for my comedy band, and crack jokes about terrible science-fiction movies with my friends.

I am currently a senior at Harvard College where I study chemistry, and I'll be attending Columbia Medical School next year. I have years of experience tutoring college students in math (mostly calculus) and chemistry including both general and organic chemistry. In addition, I am very familiar with all sections of the SAT and ACT having prepared several high school students for these tests. I believe that every student is capable of boosting his or her baseline score on these tests, so long as he or she works hard to get to know the format of the tests and the most popular types of questions. I tutor because I love seeing students develop a genuine passion for the subjects they once disliked (such as math and science), once they understand the power of these subjects and their applications to the real world.

I am a licensed physician from Florida who is currently changing careers. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and have extensive tutoring and editing experience. While a student, I became a certified writing tutor through the Critical Writing Department. Since I completed my writing requirement at the University prior to matriculating, I was the first freshman tutor to be accepted into this selective program. The tutoring program involved a preliminary peer-tutor training course prior to beginning tutoring, in order to certify that I had the appropriate background to provide professional feedback to fellow students on their literary works and projects. After graduation, I worked for a full-service learning center where I created and implemented high school lesson plans for home-schooled students, provided academic support for students ranging in ages from 8 to 20 years old, and taught group and individual standardized testing preparation classes. I have also assisted students with application essays for various undergraduate and graduate programs.

I am an experienced tutor specializing in one-on-one SAT test prep. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, earning a bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology with College Honors, and I am currently working toward my PhD. I have been tutoring for six years, working for well-known test prep companies in addition to volunteering for nonprofit educational organizations around the world. I am currently a student at Stanford University studying math and political science. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with younger students. I am primarily an SAT and writing tutor with two years of experience and over 60 former students. I have spent hundreds of hours familiarizing myself with dozens of real SAT tests and SAT format-specific strategies. While a tutor, and later general manager, at a boutique university admissions consulting company in Cairo Egypt, I applied my teaching experience to a leading role developing SAT curricula for a variety of skill levels.

I am applying to medical school and I'm enrolled at the BU Medical school getting my Master's in Medical Science. As a recent graduate of Princeton University, I have realized the importance of the learning process. Often times the difficulty of the material comes from the unfamiliarity of the approach to it, rather than the inherent difficulty of the material. As a tutor, I hope to help my students realize that they can master the material when they learn the best learning strategies to approaching their various assignments.

I am currently in the process of applying to Law School. I have tutored middle school and high school students in subjects ranging from 5th grade reading to geometry to the SAT. While I am happy and able to tutor a number of subjects, I am most passionate about Test Prep because these scores are very important to students, and I enjoy helping them to conquer the test and succeed. My teaching philosophy can be described as a coaching style in which, like athletics, I believe learning the subject matter, good techniques, and constant practice are the best ways to achieving better scores.

I am a new graduate of Pomona College, in Claremont, CA, where I studied Religion and Philosophy. While there, I wrote many papers of a wide variety, working on strong arguments, organization, and phrasing. I peer edited as well as volunteering with groups that mentored high school students, focusing on college admissions work, continuing and expanding my experiences from high school of tutoring for standardized testing. Additionally, I taught beginning violin to younger children.

I am good at test taking, is my ability to organize information. It's a skill I use both in my academic life, as well as professionally; as a stage manager, it is often my job to take in complicated and conflicting pieces of information (the blocking, a quick change in costumes, changes in a script) and quickly organize that information so that I can convey it to someone else. I enjoy and excel at condensing and re-communicating facts or tasks, so that they become comprehensible to someone who may not understand them the first time around.

I am a graduate of Cornell University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Currently, I am working as an Assistant Director at a preparatory school managing and teaching students simultaneously. In the recent years at the school, I have been focusing more on the Reading portions of standardized tests but have at times assisted students in the math and science portions as well usually one-on-one. I strongly believe that every students has their own style of learning and must learn at their own pace. Although, sometimes giving them too much leeway may not always be the best solution, I am there to also provide encouragement and challenge to make the learning process enjoyable and beneficial. I am currently a sophomore at Yale University working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. I began tutoring in high school at local elementary schools and continued tutoring into my college career with older students. I am a working professional with a passion for teaching. I have been tutoring for 5+ years and have had great success with students ranging from middle school to college-age, as well as non-traditional students. I began tutoring by helping my peers, which in the later years, converted into more formative private tutoring. My experience so far includes teaching Urdu and English Literature, exam prep for all ages (especially ACT and SAT), general help with homework, and support for both enrichment and struggling students. I am a high school history teacher who has also worked as a teaching assistant at one of the country's top 10 colleges. I've taught ACT/SAT prep for about 4 years to students at all ends of the academic spectrum: from those working with learning disabilities/accommodations & struggling with timing to those trying to achieve perfect scores. Although I always create individualized plans, I focus on teaching every student the most effective, step-by-step way to approach each question on each section of the test. Beyond test prep, I've taught/tutored just about every academic subject through the undergraduate level. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading about history, going to church, coaching sports (track & tennis), and spending time with my family. I am a fourth year student at Harvard Medical School, and will start working as a pediatrician in July of 2016. However, if I had not decided to become a physician, I would have strongly considered becoming a teacher. Teaching is one of the most enjoyable activities I do, and I have taught in some capacity every year for the past ten years. I have taught subjects ranging from English to algebra, from physics to dance, and have taught students ranging in age from toddlers to adults. I have also provided advice on application essays, resumes, and interview strategies for Harvard College students applying to highly competitive scholarships. Each of these experiences has taught me how to communicate concepts in clear and engaging ways. For instance, while tutoring adolescents enrolled in the Boston-based Artists for Humanity program, I would often teach students whom I had never worked with before, and thus became adept at quickly discovering and implementing the strategies that worked best for a particular student (e.g., visual/tactile examples, analogies, and breaking down complex problems into smaller parts). While tutoring a janitorial staff member in preparation for the mathematics portion of her GED high school equivalency exam, I learned how to quickly identify the highest yield topics for a standardized exam and focus our efforts on those. Each of these experiences has been incredibly rewarding, and has inspired me to teach in some capacity throughout my career as a doctor.

I'm a computer and social scientist. I hold graduate degrees from Columbia University and the University of Chicago and earned my bachelor's at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, I research ways the natural sciences can be used to advance the study of anthropology and history. I am currently completing my PhD.

I'm an international Affairs major at Princeton University minoring in Creative Writing and Chinese. I graduated from The Brearley School in New York City in 2011. At Princeton, I work in the writing center tutoring fellow students in critical thinking, analysis, and academic writing. I also have a good deal of experience helping elementary and junior high students with math, reading, and French. Still, writing remains my favorite subject to tutor, largely because of the discussions that accompany it. Outside of the classroom, I'm a varsity cross-country and track runner; an enthusiastic fan of the New Yorker fiction podcast; and am fascinated by military history and policy.

I am a rising sophomore at Cornell University. I am studying Statistics and Economics, with possible minors in information science and computer science. I have been working with students for several years now and have provided academic support to my peers throughout my time as a high school and now college student. Through my religious school, I taught students of all ages, ranging from Pre-K through 8th Grade. In high school, I helped prepare students for AP, SAT, ACT, and SAT subject tests as part of my role in the National Honor Society. I have considerable personal experience with a vast array of subjects and love sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I am a patient teacher who can explain problems in many different ways according to how individual students learn best. I only ask that you know and explain to me what topics you do not know or get so far. I know that every student can learn a subject with a combination of practice and patience, but I insist upon consistent effort and sessions. As an educator I do not support last minute cramming as the primary learning method of content for students as it does not lead to retention of material, mastery of larger themes, or the ability to differentiate between subtle differences when problem-solving on tests and exams. I will help my clients when they need extra sessions before Final Exams and AP Exams, but those who have been working the hardest throughout the school year to regularly improve will get preference over those students who are panicked at the last minute, but have put off meeting with me.

I am a rising Junior at Princeton University who is passionate about the ways in which people learn, which has led me to pursue a degree in Neuropsychology. Through great experiences teaching English in Chiangmai, Thailand for two months and tutoring Calculus I and II through Princeton University's McGraw Tutoring program for two years, I have come across many learning styles and have developed a love for teaching. I am currently studying chemical engineering at the University of Michigan. I am currently working in a biochemistry lab at NYU Medical Center and applying to medical school, with hopes of training to be a pediatric surgeon in the future. I'm currently a sophomore at Stanford University, studying Computer Science. In the past, I've attended The Juilliard School's Pre-College program studying the violin and composition, and even before then, I've played the violin for 13 years.
