I am a graduate of the University of Chicago where I received my undergraduate degree in political science. Right after graduation, I worked as an academic and test prep tutor as well as admissions consultant in Hong Kong. For the past two years, I worked with a number of students to help prepare them for college in the United States.

I am flexible and adaptive to different learning styles. I welcome students and/or parents to set their own goals/expectations, and I tailor the curriculum to suit those goals.

I am a recent graduate of Williams College, where I studied political science with sidelines in history and English. Next fall, I am headed to Ithaca to study at Cornell Law School. I have experience tutoring in all subjects for high school standardized tests and in writing and history at higher levels, and am excited to pass on the benefits of my study as a tutor for the LSAT. I am a rising junior at Princeton University pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy with a certificate in Statistics and Machine Learning. I am highly passionate about education: during the academic year, I serve as a volunteer tutor for the Petey Greene Program, which provides educational assistance to those incarcerated in New Jersey prisons; after graduation, I hope to work toward becoming a high school mathematics teacher. This summer, I am interning part-time at IntegrateNYC4me, a nonprofit that seeks to integrate New York schools. I'm Ellie, and I am a junior at Yale University studying Biomedical Engineering (pre-med)! I have always considered myself a life-long student, and I strive to make learning exciting and empowering for everyone. On campus, I work as a graphic designer for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), volunteer EMT, am the Arts Editor for the Yale Scientific Magazine, am the Layout Editor for the Yale Globalist Magazine, conduct autism research in the School of Medicine, and tutor a Differential Equations course to small groups of students weekly. Aside from my passion for science and math, I enjoy writing essays in my literature classes, designing in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more and also have much experience writing application essays for colleges and jobs!

I am a current student at the University of Chicago. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, and I am on the pre-medical track. I am extremely passionate about tutoring, and I have several years of experience tutoring students in my high school's learning center in various subjects as well as tutoring private clients in Standardized Test preparation. Given that I graduated high school recently, I have taken several Standardized Tests and high school subjects myself, so I have a comprehensive understanding of not only how to tutor these subjects and exams, but also what it is like to take them. While I have a wide range of interests and am able to tutor various subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring in Standardized Test preparation (including ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and AP Exams), Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Spanish. I am a math enthusiast who is passionate about helping students gain confidence and achieve. I began tutoring other students in middle school and continued throughout high school. I believe all students have the potential to understand math, but they can be intimated or have trouble finding the learning method that works for them. With my extensive experience tutoring students of various age groups through different mediums, I have seen how my emphasis on building a strong foundation and understanding how concepts/formulas work, patience, and encouragement helped students see math in an approachable manner. I participated and scored well in various math competitions throughout high school. Additionally, I am experienced in high school standardized test preparation. I am also a native Mandarin speaker.

I am in my second year at MIT studying mathematics, and I am currently doing a research project in Spectral Graph Theory. I have been a tutor since my junior year in high school, and I enjoy teaching all levels of math; everything from pre-algebra through calculus and linear algebra! I focus primarily on making sure that the definitions and processes given in class make intuitive sense, so that math can begin to feel like second nature.

I am a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing a Masters in International Educational Development. I graduated from Stetson University with my BA in 2017, and since then have worked in inner city schools. The last two years, I have taught Algebra and Geometry at a charter high school, while managing a math tutorial program within the school. I find great joy is setting students up for success and helping them achieve the utmost in school. I do not only focus on student academic performance, but also on their social-emotional well-being, so they may attain a positive mindset of their day-to-day learning. I have 10 years experience working with elementary kids, including assisting with homeschooling. However, I am more passionate about helping students understand higher levels of mathematics. I am a believer in quality education, that's why I make sure to create an engaging learning environment for my students.

I am currently an undergraduate student at Stanford University, and I recently graduated top of my class from Phillips Academy, a prestigious private boarding school in Massachusetts. For the past few years, I have tutored students of all different ages, serving as a peer tutor, faculty-nominated department tutor, and mentor for elementary school students. Although I tutor many different subjects, I am particularly passionate about Writing, Math, Physics, and Economics. My tutees and I always have a lot of fun revising essays, and academic research experience has given me a better appreciation of the other subjects. I am also well-versed in standardized test prep. My teaching philosophy is that no subject or concept is beyond the capabilities of any studentwe must only find the right teaching method. I would characterize my tutoring style as adaptable and empowering. I want to focus on not only solving the given problem or revising an essay, but also developing the skills and thinking process to apply to other assignments. For instance, one of my preferred teaching methods utilizes the Socratic method.

I'm a coterminal master's student at Stanford University in California majoring in Computer Science (Biocomputation). Throughout high school and college, I've taken many courses in computer science, the life sciences (biology and chemistry), and math; and I've been through a lot of standardized tests. For computer science in particular, I have a lot of experience writing software in Python and C++ for AI and systems classes, and I'll be interning as a software engineer at Facebook this summer. I got a lot of great tips and mentorship from tutors along the way, and would love to pass along what I know!

I am primarily an SAT and writing tutor with two years of experience and over 60 former students. I have spent hundreds of hours familiarizing myself with dozens of real SAT tests and SAT format-specific strategies. While a tutor, and later general manager, at a boutique university admissions consulting company in Cairo Egypt, I applied my teaching experience to a leading role developing SAT curricula for a variety of skill levels.

I'm a junior at MIT pursuing a B.S. in Computational Neuroscience, and a B.S. in Philosophy. Starting in high school, I have served in a multitude of teaching/tutoring roles, including: tutoring all levels of high school math (from pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC); teaching a six-week class on psychology to underserved high school students in the Boston area; teaching chemistry, biology, and computer science at a STEM summer camp to 6th-9th graders; working as a TA in a college-level philosophy seminar; and even teaching choreo for a hip-hop dance workshop series! And, though my teaching experience centers largely around STEM subjects, I also have a deep love for history, English, and philosophy, and am excited to work with students in these areas as well. In general, I have an intense passion for learning anything and everything, and my top goal when working with any student is to ignite their own curiosity, and awaken their inner desire to understand themselves and the world.

I am a sophomore at Vanderbilt University and have been tutoring since I was a freshman in high school. I love working with elementary and middle school students, but also have the knowledge and skills to tutor high school students in AP classes and standardized tests. I scored a 35 on my ACT (36 math, 35 english, 35 science, 33 reading), a 770 on the Math II SAT subject test and a 780 on the Chemistry SAT subject test. In high school, I took AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, and Multivariable Calculus, and scored a 5 on every AP exam. In addition to specific subject matter, I am highly knowledgable on the college process and know how to strategize to get into your dream school!

I'm a sophomore at Harvard studying Applied Math, Economics, and Computer Science. I've tutored in a variety of subjects throughout high school and currently work part-time as a Course Assistant for an Introductory Calculus course at Harvard. My favorite part about being a tutor is the moment of satisfaction that comes with seeing one of my students greatly improve after a lot of hard work. My favorite things to tutor are the GRE and the SAT, in part because I feel like a high score on these exams should be accessible for anyone if they are given the tools for success. As a former high school and college debater I enjoy having an opportunity to help students talk their way through the various logical challenges within these exams, as well as develop the kind of self-awareness and mental discipline that is essential to persevering and getting those last few questions right.
