As of August 2025, I currently serve as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Music Cognition Laboratory and maintain TN state licensure as an ASHA-certified pediatric audiologist (CCC-A). In May 2015, I graduated from the University of Connecticut with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and Psychology (Honors Scholar; Summa Cum Laude). I recently earned my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in May 2024 through the Vanderbilt Graduate Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, after obtaining my Vanderbilt School of Medicine Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in May 2019 on the pediatric specialty track for management of childhood hearing loss. Over the next several years, I intend to continue my career as a translational clinician-researcher, with a specific focus on child development, early intervention, newborn hearing screenings, aural rehabilitation, assistive technology, auditory neuroscience, psychosocial skills/language growth for youth with hearing loss, advocacy for families with multiple disabilities, and enhancing healthcare access to underserved communities.

I am a graduate of the University of Kansas, with bachelor's degrees in biology and environmental studies. While I am fascinated by the natural world, I also have interests in other fields, such as literature, philosophy, and foreign languages. One of the reasons I like tutoring is because it allows me to use what I have learned in such fields to help others gain confidence in and become excited about a subject. I especially love to tutor in French, which I studied at the Universit du Havre and minored in during college. I believe that curiosity is the most important ingredient in learning. During college, I helped my peers learn French both individually and in small groups; and most recently, I worked as an English language teacher in France, helping small groups of middle- and high-schoolers put their language learning into practice by organizing projects, conversations, and debates. In my free time, I like to read, write, draw, and learn about topics of interest such as Spanish and world literature.

As a recipient of several degrees, the most recent being a BA in history from Hillsdale College and a MA in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from Stanford University, I have long sought to make teaching my profession. I'm especially interested in how AI can solve real problems in spacelike predicting satellite orbits or understanding Earth's upper atmosphere. Outside of the classroom, I've tutored students from grades 6 to 12 in math and physics. I love breaking down tricky concepts and helping students find that "aha" moment. My favorite subject to tutor is Algebra 2it's where math starts getting deeper and connects to the real world, especially physics and engineering. When I graduated from college, I was offered a position with my college's admissions and marketing office, where I had been working to put myself through school. It was a tremendous opportunity, and launched an eighteen-year career helping high school students make important decisions about their futures, and navigate an often complex admissions and financial aid system. I loved working with students, being around bright, engaging people, and doing work that made a difference. But each time I walked through a high school to present a workshop on writing college essays or preparing for college interviews, I was reminded of how deeply I still wanted to be in a classroom. So I took the plunge, and now spend my days teaching social studies to great students at a great school. I have taught world history, American history, sociology, psychology, economics, and even developed a high school course in teaching for students seeking a career in education. I am passionate about understanding how the past has shaped the present, and helping students recognize their critical role in protecting and preserving democracy.
