Physics Tutoring review by Bahar in Tustin, CA
We looked at one-dimensional momentum and impulse problems, including conservation of momentum. I also briefly reviewed older material on projectile motion with her.

Physics Tutoring review by Jeffrey in Tustin, CA
Discussed differences in vector and scalars quantities and how vectors have both x and y components that contribute to total vector. Also reviewed drawing free-body diagrams and understanding the force vectors that can be drawn from them, including what positive and negative signs represent in terms of direction. Worked through homework problems covering one-dimensional motion (rocket in various stages of lift-off and free fall). Demonstrated how to draw out problems and list knowns and unknowns to better approach solution by selecting appropriate kinematic equations and solving in steps. Homework problems involved two-dimensional motion; demonstrating using techniques of one-dimensional motion and stressed importance dividing motion into both x and y components in solving for time, height, distance, etc. The student understood and showed she was able to set up problems. After working through longer problems, she was able to translate solutions into next stages and could pick appropriate kinematic equations to solve for next step.

Physics Tutoring review by Daniel in Tustin, CA
I covered her final unit about waves. She only had some trouble with specific types of problems. Her attitude was fine. I showed her that it matters about velocity and not just relative velocity. I did not leave extra practice. She got a 100 on her last test. The win is she was able to understand most of the problems.

Physics Tutoring review by James in Tustin, CA
The student and I continued to review for his class and started talking about resistors and resistor circuits. Overall, this material is not too hard, but he will need to practice the basics in order to get comfortable with the process of solving these systems.

Physics Tutoring review by Ryan in Tustin, CA
We covered concepts of Work, Energy (K&P), and Force of Friction as well as Normal Force. The student struggled a bit with how Force of Friction and Normal Force were calculated and how they applied, as well as with the concept of work only being done by a force in the direction in which it is acting; however, the student was quite happy with the results as we worked through practice problems. He understood the relationship between energy and work quite well. We did discuss problem-solving and test-taking techniques, including the listing of given variables for reference before trying to solve the problem and the discussion of units for the purpose of checking answers. The student will be applying these concepts to the spring chapter in the upcoming week.
