As a teaching assistant for multiple courses including C Programming, Freshman Engineering, Digital Systems Design, and iOS programming, I had the opportunity to meet many great students and assist them in completing their courses successfully and meaningfully. I'm Rob! I graduated from Duke University in 2016 with a double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Economics. I've been a math teacher in the DOE for the last 2 years and have a Master's of Arts in Teaching. I specialize in high school math and test prep for the ACT, SAT, and GRE.As a math teacher for the last 2 years, I've found that students often aren't given enough time in the classroom to fully grasp new concepts before moving on to new material. This often leads to "gaps" in their knowledge, which are hard to fill without providing them with 1-on-1 help. This is how I can benefit my students the most, by providing the the 1-on-1 attention they need. When I start with a new student, I first work to identify the gaps in their knowledge, and then methodically fill in those gaps to help them reach a stronger conceptual understanding.I want to help my students as much as possible. I am a recent graduate of Brigham Young University. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Physics with a minor in astronomy. I am currently working on my Masters degree in astrophysics at BYU. I have worked as a physics tutor for the last three years through my university, and love helping students learn how to learn! I love seeing the joy that comes when something clicks in the minds of my students. Because physics is heavy in math, I also enjoy tutoring all math subjects. I have found that learning can be great fun when catered towards the learning style of each individual, which is much easier to do in a tutoring setting than in a crowded classroom.

I am a rising senior at Washington and Lee University, majoring in Biochemistry on the pre-med track. I have always found my science courses to be the most challenging and rewarding courses that I've taken. The main reason why I have loved these courses has been because of the terrific teachers and professors that I have been fortunate enough to have. In high school, I tutored my peers at the Math and Science Center, and I always tried to personally connect with each student in a different way. In the STEM courses, the concepts can be very challenging and complex. My teaching philosophy is to simplify these concepts by relating them to every-day experiences. I've found that when students can understand these concepts through real life examples and applications, they become much easier to understand. Science can be hard, there are a lot of details that can make students (and myself!) feel overwhelmed. However, there are fundamental principles that are at the core of each field in STEM. My mission is to instill these fundamental principles in my students, so that when they move on in their academic and professional careers, they can use these principles to help them understand any concept.

College has cultivated my sense for education and learning. Last spring, during my sophomore year at Pitzer College, I declared a double major in mathematics and biophysics. I am taking this year off of college, and wish to share what I have learned with others.

I am a senior double majoring in physics and math at the University of Houston Clear Lake. I have been tutoring independently, with tutoring companies and for schools and universities since I was a junior in high school. I work primarily with high school and college students, although I have some experience working with high school and middle school students, for example in after school chess programs.I particularly enjoy working with physics students. I am majoring in both physics and math, but I was a physics major first. I think the best way to improve your understanding of math or physics is through practice. I encourage students to work through as many questions as they can and bring me what they don't understand or need clarification on.Outside of work I enjoy chess, podcasts and reading.

I come from a family of four children. I am the second born and so I always had to help my junior sisters with their homework problems. I enjoyed it a lot and decided to become a tutor once I got to college. One big advantage of tutoring is that it help you help others, put a smile on their faces and make them happy. I have being a tutor for a total of four years already and have enjoyed all the gifts I have gotten from it.I went to Lone Star College Cy-Fair and then transferred to Baylor University where I earned my Bachelors degree with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in mathematics. Throughout my time in college, I was a tutor in both schools and enjoyed it a lot. During tutoring, not only am I teaching a student a concept but I am also learning that concept. That is also one of the reasons I enjoy it so much.

I am a trainee teacher, studying in the School of Education at Strathclyde University, Glasgow.My first degree was in Electronic and Information Engineering, and I come from a background in medical statistics, physics, and pure mathematics.My interest is in helping people understand the principles behind mathematics. I will never expect you to learn formulae and equations from memory; instead, I want you to understand WHY those equations are true, and what kinds of problems they would solve.

I love helping people and I've always been able to help teach others. I enjoy tutoring others and I find I'm great at it because I can explain concepts at their most basic level.
