Graduated (James Scholar Honors) from the University of Illinois in Engineering Physics and have a Masters in Physics from the same institution. Retiring from industry 2008 I began teaching part-time at the local community college and have been doing so ever since, teaching passionately physics and math. My aim is to give students a good understanding and appreciation of a subject whether a course is in their career field or an elective. During my career in industry, I had become interested in display monitor technology for education and worked leading to development of high-definition display screens. I hold 22 issued patents and many peer reviewed publications. We formed a small company which has produced display products for over 30 years and did joint Research and Development internationally.

As an undergraduate, I taught and tutored many students in a wide variety of introductory science courses at the University of Michigan. Post-graduation, I have continued to tutor full-time in addition to doing research through the Michigan Clinical Outcomes Research and Reporting Program.I believe that all of the students I work with are intelligent, but often lecture-based learning does not fit their personal learning style. I chose the latter; though the pay is less, I find too much joy in both research and teaching to not pursue those as a career at the highest level.Throughout my life, I have found that I am very skilled at teaching both my colleagues and those younger than me.
