The journey of education took me to do my PhD from University of Tokyo Japan. But the journey of learning still continues. I work as a researcher in California. I teach masters student in lab as part of my job. I had chance to be guest lecture in Cal State LA. In any form I have keen interest to teach and will continue to find opportunities to do so.

I am a rising senior at Duke University in Durham, NC. When not passing my time sleeping outdoors waiting for assorted basketball tickets as a "Cameron Crazie," I study Evolutionary Anthropology with fortunate access to Duke's fascinating lemurs and primates. My aspiration since my matriculation at college has been to pursue medicine, and I have just recently finished piecing together my application for medical school. Naturally, having just finished studying for the MCAT, I have a particular expertise in science of all kinds ranging from Biology and Chemistry to Physics. However, having also taken many AP courses in high school, I have a thorough working knowledge in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Spanish, and Psychology. I have tutored all throughout high school and also have previous experience working with Mad Science of Long Island teaching general concepts in science to younger students of ages between 5-12 years old. In my free time, I am an avid soccer player and music fanatic (particularly alternative/independent rock). I am extremely passionate about teaching (both my brother and mother are teachers) and truly look forward to sharing some of the tools I have developed along the road with others. I know personally of the successes and, unfortunately, failures that have faced me upon my academic path and believe my down-to-earth and empathetic style makes me uniquely well-suited to help others along theirs.

Hi there everyone! Thank you for coming across my bio -- it is such a pleasure to meet you! My name is Nick Syracuse, a current undergraduate senior at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, but have traveled and lived all across the country. I am currently pursuing a degree in molecular biology and biochemistry and am currently an intern with NASA! I am a passionate tutor with a love for teaching and experience in a wide variety of subjects, K-12, collegiate, and at the standard, honors, advanced, and AP levels. I am particularly excited to help out in SAT/ACT standardized testing and college admissions help, which I have some specialized experience with. I have worked as a tutor with contracted companies and freelance for many years, and have loved the experience I've been lucky to share with students and their families. Kindness first is my most important value! I consider myself rather flexible and would love to help create a plan that works best for you and your family! Outside of tutoring, I am also an avid outdoors person and sports lover. I can't wait to meet you and get started soon!

Hi there! I am very excited to help you reach your academic goals. As a former STEM student, I am passionate in seeing a students confidence rise as they conquer challenging problems and concepts in STEM subjects. Ultimately winning these small victories will help you on your path for your life goals of becoming whatever motivates you, and I want to help you get there!I am well-versed in tutoring chemistry and biology subjects, as I just recently graduated from St. Edwards University with a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Psychology. For three years at SEU, I was a tutor, teaching assistant and supplemental instructor for General Chemistry, General Biology, Microbiology and Organic Chemistry. In addition to this, I have also done private tutoring for both high-school and undergraduate natural science courses since for six years now. My favorite subject to tutor is General Chemistry, not only because it is the class I have the most experience tutoring but also because I think it is the most fun (nerd status, I know). Although I love tutoring chem and bio classes, I also tutor for psychology and math classes as well as some test prep classes for the GRE, SAT, ACT and subject tests! As a long-time basketball player and coach, my teaching philosophy is practice makes perfect! I know concepts can be scary at first, but I will walk you through the rough patches until you feel confident enough to do some problems on your own. My goal by the end of our sessions is to have you walk away having independently performed problems in the areas you were once struggling with, now much more confident with that material. I not only do I emphasize content in my sessions, but also best-study practices. This is so you can take the lessons you learn with and become the autonomous learner you need to be to reach your goals. Finally, outside of tutoring I am also very active in my community. I coach basketball for middle school girls, work in the medical field, and thoroughly enjoy the live music scene here int he ATX! Some of my favorite things to do are to walk up and down congress and listen to the free music while eating some Amys ice cream or some Lucky Robot sushi. If you dont see me running the Town Lake trail, I am probably at Zilker park SUP boarding with my roommates corgi or getting fat on Chuys chips and salsa. In addition, I try and play basketball as much as possible, and enjoy a good session of Hot yoga here and there. So, with all that said I hope we have some stuff in common! And if not, Id love to learn more about you as we help you be the best student you can be!

When we are struggling, we often blame ourselves or our own insufficiencies. However, I strongly believe that no student is "slow" ill suited to the subject; rather, students who are struggling need a little support and an adult who is eager to invest time and energy into their success. In a tutoring session with me, you should expect to engage in the content you're learning in ways that best suit your needs and interests so that you can be successful and confident in class.I currently live in Dayton, Ohio but I've lived all over the country. I graduated with a dual major from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where I was an active part of the honors college and graduated summa cum laude. I coached and tutored though high school and college, where I realized my passion for meeting students where they were and helping them succeed in their next steps. I taught several different courses of high school science for several years and loved it. My favorite part of teaching was building relationships and supporting students, which is why I am tutoring!I am most excited to tutor middle and high school science students, but I tutor many subjects for students of all ages. I enjoy the tutoring experience because of the one-on-one interaction allows students to get more individualized support that is rooted in their own needs and interests.

I'm passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals. As a 6-12 grade science and math teacher at Fusion Academy, Tysons, I have plentiful experience working one-on-one with students in the classroom. I believe that every student is different, and that individualization is the best way to help students not only learn the content, but to be excited about learning!

I am passionate about helping students because I realize how hard school can be when striving for As or falling behind and not feeling good enough. Being a student myself I have achieved an Associates of Arts and am currently pursuing my Bachelors of Science at the University of Washington. I have tutored community members and peers since my high school years and am ready to help a new generation of students achieve their academic dreams.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Montclair State University in January 2020. I am now working towards a Master of Science in Biology at The University of North Florida, where my graduate research will focus especially on microbiology and molecular biology. As a research assistant at The New Jersey Center for Water Science and Technology, I taught a summer biology course for incoming college freshmen majoring in STEM fields. I tutor high school and college Biology, including a variety of more advanced college courses in the biological sciences. Genetics is an especially exciting field, and so it is my favorite subject to tutor. My motivation to tutor students comes from my own experience in college. When I first decided to major in Biology, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get through the required math courses. Algebra had never been my friend, and I feared that struggling with math would prevent me from pursuing my love of biology. But with the help of passionate professors and teaching assistants and a lot of hard work, of course I earned A's in my math courses, and discovered that I actually enjoyed the classes! I want to show students that there is no need to shy away from a subject that doesn't come easily to them; being challenged by a course doesn't mean you can't excel in it.When it comes to mastering difficult material, my philosophy is: be active, not passive. For instance, if a student does not know the answer to a question, my solution is not to just give them the answer and move on. Instead, I'll ask the student to make some logical guesses based on their knowledge of a more fundamental concept. This way, I can guide the student towards the correct answer, and help build meaningful connections between different concepts in biology. When I am not in class or at the lab, there's a good chance you'll find me drawing or painting. Making art has always been one of my favorite ways to express my thoughts and feelings. Spending time in nature is also very important to me, and someday I'd like to hike the entire Appalachian Trail!
