Heather: University of Wisconsin-Madison tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Christopher Newport University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology, and minored in Human Rights and Conflict Resolution. Since graduation, I have obtained my Masters of Science in Criminal Justice with a specialization in victim studies from the University of Baltimore. I then attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where I received my Juris Doctor and graduated with honors. Throughout my academic career, I have tutored and mentored numerous students, which aided their success in getting high grades and a better understanding of the subject areas they once needed help in.
In my experience tutoring students and helping them while they struggled to prepare for tests/ understand the subject matter, I made an effort to accommodate their learning style and get to the root of their confusion. I understand students come to school with their own life experiences and own way of thinking. This is why I practice patience and choose to customize their learning in a way that fits them so they can begin to comfortably understand each concept.
I am a firm believer that no question is a dumb question and I am here to help and invest in each student's way of learning and understanding.
