Sebastian: Mecklenburg County tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in English, along with a Level 3 120-hour TEFL certification and a substitute teaching license. After graduating college, I was a K-12 substitute teacher in Clark County for two years which helped me transition into my role as a Peace Corps volunteer. I served as a PCV in Guatemala for two years, where I taught English to Spanish-speaking students, created bilingual lessons, and worked closely with local communities to support education. I enjoy tutoring English, Biology, and Spanish, and I especially love helping students gain confidence in expressing themselves and discovering their strengths.
I see education as a powerful way to open doors, and I try to make learning supportive, engaging, and fun. Outside of teaching, I'm passionate about wildlife conservation, enjoy making art, and staying active through running.
