Certified Tutor

I earned my BA in TESOL from Brigham Young UniversityHawaii and a TESL certificate from Snow College. I have taught English in both the U.S. and Japan, working with students from elementary through college level. My internships at Mikuni International College and Hale Ohana allowed me to help learners improve their speaking, writing, and confidence in English. I also tutored as an EIL Tutor at BYU-Hawaii and as a Conversation Tutor at Snow College, supporting students from many different countries and backgrounds.

As part of my TESOL degree, I was required to study a second language, and I chose Japanese. I completed Japanese 101, 102, and 201, and I also lived in Japan for six weeks, where I taught English while using Japanese in daily life. This strengthened my language skills and gave me valuable insight into the challenges and strategies of language learning from a learner's perspective.

I especially enjoy helping students strengthen their vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing skills, while designing lessons that are practical, engaging, and student-centered. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy studying languages, traveling, music, fitness, and spending time with family, and friends.
