Certified Tutor

As a New York State and North Carolina State certified Spanish Language and English Literature teacher, I have taught middle school and High School Spanish in both states, spanning over 10 years. I am a class away from a post master's certificate in Administration, Leadership, and Technology at Dowling College (managed by LIU). I hold a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Dowling College (managed by LIU), a Bachelor of Arts in English literature, Dance and Theater minor, from Manhattanville University, and a second major in Spanish from Stony Brook University, SUNY. I also studied abroad at the University of Seville in Spain.

I have taught and fulfilled the full responsibilities of a classroom teacher. I was a substitute teacher for various subjects. I have tutored many subjects, including math, English, and Spanish. And my favorite subjects to tutor are Spanish levels 1 and 2, and Math.

I am a master teacher. I can teach any subject, providing I have the materials, to any student, providing they are ready and able to learn.

I have spent the past 17 years building a wellness program as a wellness coach centered around dance and performing arts. I have always loved teaching using Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences style. I know all learners have a way that they learn best, and I enjoy incorporating the performing arts or whatever the students' interests are into the lesson whenever possible.

When I see the "light bulb" go off in the student's eyes, I know that learning is happening, and the student is more confident, joyful, and prepared for their lessons, exams, and tests. And most importantly, their confidence and new knowledge help them for life. I always make learning engaging and relevant to their lives and the world at large.
