I am a doctoral student at Arizona State University pursuing my PhD in Social Work, with a strong passion for teaching statistics and programming. My educational background includes a master's in social work and graduate certificate in advanced social research (Boston College) and a bachelor's in mathematics and psychology (Michigan Technological University). I have been recognized with the Mathematics Woman of Promise award (2022), taught bachelor's level statistics, and led various statistics, math, and multi-day programming workshops for doctoral students. I have over five years of tutoring experience, I specialize in subjects such as algebra, calculus, and statistics.
My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive and engaging environment, where I draw from my own struggles with math to help students reframe their challenges as exciting puzzles. I aim for students build a solid foundation in mathematical concepts before moving to more complex material. Outside of teaching, I enjoy enhancing my programming skills and exploring the intersection of quantitative methods and social work.

In my free time, I typically do one of two activities: get outside, or craft. I enjoy running, hiking, biking, camping, paddling, and outdoor photography. Inside, my primary hobby is sewing, but I also paint, puzzle (jigsaw, crosswords, Sudoku), bead, and read. Of course, I also spend plenty of time with my sweet doggo and partner.
