As a certified 5th grade math teacher with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Fitchburg State College, I am passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve success in foundational skills. With over 2 years of experience in the classroom, I specialize in upper elementary math, particularly in teaching fractions and multi-step problem-solving. My approach is warm and encouraging, focusing on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps while using visual models and engaging activities to make learning enjoyable. I thrive on those "light bulb" moments when students grasp new ideas, and I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where every student can thrive. In addition to math, I also have a solid foundation in ELA skills, utilizing strategies like repeated reading and graphic organizers to foster comprehension. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading and exploring new educational techniques to further enhance my tutoring skills.
