I grew up in Hong Kong and attended an international school, which gave me a strong academic foundation and helped ease my transition to college in the United States. I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years and have tutored students on and off since I was in high school. I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Relay Graduate School of Education and my undergraduate degree from New York University. I specialize in SAT Reading and Writing, elementary school math and literacy, and essay editing for high school students. On the SAT, I scored 690 in both Reading and Writing, and 670 in Math, putting me in the 93rd percentile range when I took the test in 2015.
My teaching philosophy centers on understanding diverse learning styles and creating student-centered lessons that engage and inspire. I am passionate about literacy, believing it is essential for critical thinking and effective communication in today's world. I strive to build rapport with my students, adapting my methods to meet their individual needs.

State Certified Teacher
Outside of tutoring, I’m a visual artist, poet and rock climber. I enjoy portraiture and studied printmaking and oil painting during college alongside my undergraduate major of Art Therapy and Social Justice. My poetry weaves together reflections on teaching, cultural identity, and the natural world. My creative practices ground me and often inform how I approach teaching—they help me stay present, think flexibly, and connect with students in meaningful ways. I strive to always be learning alongside my students.
