As a passionate science educator with over 10 years of experience, I am eager to bring my expertise in AP Biology, and Environmental Science to the Varsity Tutors team. Holding a Teaching Credential from San Jose State University, I have a proven track record of engaging middle and high school students through inquiry-based learning and interactive lessons. My teaching philosophy centers around understanding each student's unique learning style and creating a supportive environment where they can explore scientific concepts hands-on. I thrive on those moments when students connect with the material, whether it's designing a Mars Rover model or conducting research on Earth's seasons. My goal is not just to teach science but to instill a love for learning and empower students to achieve their academic goals. I look forward to inspiring students and helping them discover the wonders of science.

State Certified Teacher
As part of my path as a science teacher, I have had a number of opportunities to work in the field with different scientists on various habitat restoration projects. I currently volunteer with the Chicago Park District at the Bill Jarvis Migratory Bird Sanctuary doing habitat reconstruction and helping to monitor various bird species such as the Purple Martin. Data collected by volunteers is used to help research at places like the Field Museum and Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.
