Daveta: Western Springs tutor
Certified Tutor
As a dedicated educator with over 15 years of classroom and support experience, I bring a deep commitment to student growth and individualized learning. My professional journey spans a diverse range of instructional and leadership roles in both elementary and secondary education, including work as an Early Intervention Specialist, RTI Teacher, and MTSS/504 Coordinator. These positions have equipped me with the expertise to assess learning needs, differentiate instruction, and implement data-driven strategies that foster academic progress.
I hold active Georgia certifications in Early Childhood and Middle Grades Education, along with endorsements in Gifted Education, Dyslexia, and MTSS. My foundation in the International Baccalaureate (PYP), Orton-Gillingham, and other evidence-based interventions allows me to tailor support for learners at all levels. Whether helping a student build reading fluency, master foundational math, or strengthen executive functioning, I create an engaging, supportive environment that empowers learners to succeed.
Online tutoring offers a unique opportunity to connect with students individually and provide focused support aligned with their needs. My strengths lie in building rapport, identifying skill gaps through formative assessment, and scaffolding instruction in a way that is accessible and meaningful. I am passionate about equitable access to quality education and believe every student can thrive with the right guidance.
With a strong background in instructional support, family engagement, and progress monitoring, I am excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm to an online tutoring platform where I can continue to make a positive impact on student learning outcomes.

Outside of education, I enjoy activities that foster creativity, connection, and lifelong learning. I am an avid reader who finds joy in exploring a wide range of genres, from educational research to fiction that inspires imagination. Music and dance are both outlets for expression and relaxation, often serving as a way to recharge and stay balanced. I also deeply value quality time with family and friends, believing that strong relationships are essential to personal growth and emotional well-being. These interests reflect my belief in nurturing the whole self—something I also strive to bring into my teaching and tutoring practices.
