As a passionate educator with a PhD in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I have over 18 years of tutoring and classroom experience, primarily focusing on study skills and social psychology.

My teaching philosophy centers on understanding individual motivations, allowing me to tailor my approach to each student's unique needs. I believe that many students struggle not due to a lack of ability, but because they haven't received proper guidance on effective study techniques, especially during the transition from high school to college, or in adult education programs.

I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable discussing their challenges and aspirations. My background in social psychology informs my methods, helping students improve not only their academic skills but also their confidence. I am dedicated to empowering learners and fostering a love for education that extends beyond the classroom.

I enjoy traveling, playing with our crazy pack of rescue animals (two cats and two dogs), and winning local trivia contests with friends.
