Anvi: Burnsville tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, a minor in Africana Studies, and certificates in Global Health and Public Professional Writing. Throughout college, I tutored K8 students in reading, writing, and math, working with diverse populationsfrom Somali Bantu refugee students through the organization Keep It Real to children at the Homewood Community Engagement Center. I also taught essential first aid skills across schools, community centers, and health fairs through the preventative health organization Trauma and Emergency League.
In addition to humanities-focused tutoring, I bring a strong STEM background. I earned an A in Biochemistry and have created detailed notes, diagrams, and mnemonics that make complex material approachable. I enjoy breaking down scientific concepts in a way that fosters curiosity and mastery. For younger learners, I make math fun and accessible by using real-world examples, games, and visual strategies to strengthen number sense and confidence.
With formal training in Public and Professional Writing and hands-on experience mentoring students through academic essays and college applications, I specialize in helping learners find their voice on the page. Whether supporting students through the personal process of writing a college essay or refining the clarity of an analytical paper, my goal is to build confidence not just correct grammar.
